Last night was press night at SEE ART FAIR ( South East England’s Art Fair)  at The Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells. A mixture of galleries, artists groups and schools – art fills the whole place. It was good to see some familiar faces, starting with Louisa Crispin, who I met through South East Open Studios last year, who is part of Chalk Gallery in Lewes.

Also there was Marcus from Urban Soup in The Pantiles.

Anne Kelly Textiles, who runs The Shed Gallery during South East Open Studios, was exhibiting as part of Gallery One Ten.

Music came from some familiar faces from the Big Easy Funk Quartet…

also featured is the work of organisers Mark Paul Perry (above) and Guy Portelli. Opening the Art Pull Gallery in Camden Road last year was their inspiration to set up the Fair, which they hope will become an annual event.

There was a great variety of art, and it was interesting to find out one piece I was admiring came from Neal Scrase – someone I’ve known as a casual acquaintance for about 6 years! I had no idea he was an artist – and as it didn’t come up in conversation… he probably has no idea I write a blog these days…

The exhibition is on until Sunday 13th July 2014, opening daily at 11am. Worth a visit : SEEART FAIR
