Despite the looming clouds, the sun has shone on the 9th Tunbridge Wells Mela, held in Calverley Grounds.
Crowds, including Tunbridge Wells MP Greg Clark, enjoyed a variety of performances including Cohesion Plus (above) featuring Four by Four Bhangra and Uzambezi Arts.
Also Tunbridge Wells very own reggae window cleaner – Jack Curtis…
and based in Kent, the Cullen Academy of Irish Dance.
Food and drink stalls complemented the Park’s existing cafe, as well as some arts and community stalls. The Mela received some funding from the Arts Council, but is still welcoming text donations – text KECC11 to 70070 and donate between £1 and £10. If you consider the cost of other days/evenings out, to be honest £5 per person donation is no hardship if you had a pleasant afternoon in the sun…. @tunwellsmela for more updates.
