Grosvenor and Hilbert Park is in the midst of the Heritage Lottery funded work, but none of this stops Mother Nature, and the start of spring.
While trees have been cut down around the lake, the fruit trees planted in the new community orchard are just starting to blossom.
There’s lots to do around the pavilion area, but hopefully this will be finished by summer-time.
One of the saddest tree loses was the ‘ghost tree’ in the wetlands area. This area will be extensively refurbished in late summer/autumn, with a walkway over the boggy area.
The fallen tree has it’s own special shape in the landscape, and this area should be full of life again next spring.
